Android 14 Will Let You Drag And Drop Files And Text Between Apps, Making Multi-Tasking Even Better

The final release of Android 14 is still a couple of months away, but the good news is that as we get closer to the official release date, we are hearing more and more about the upcoming OS and getting to know some interesting details about what Google has planned. Today, we have new information on how multi-tasking would become even better on the new update thanks to a new discovery.
The latest Android 14 feature is a dream for anyone who loves multi-tasking on their smartphone
Twitter user and editor of Google News Telegram channel @Nail_Sadykov discovered that Android 14 would have a feature that is going to let you drag and drop files and texts between two full-screen apps. I do understand that this feature might look useless, but if you are sharing content with someone and you don't want to go ahead and close one app and open the other one, this feature actually is very useful.
Sadykov shared two videos on their Twitter account showing how the feature works on Android 14, and honestly, I really like just how easy it is. You can have a look at the videos below to get an idea:

Looks like Android 14 will finally let you use system navigation while you're dragging & drop items.
That is, you can take a photo or text from one app, open another app and drop it there. (Previously, this was only possible in split screen.)

As you can see in the videos shared, with Android 14, all you will have to do is long press text, images, or any other file and go for the system navigation gesture while holding the file that you have selected. I do understand that it might seem complicated at first, but the video shows just how easy this whole process is.
Now, the best thing about the latest Android 14 feature is that you would not have to use the split screen functionality at all. The functionality is good, but honestly, having to go through that process is just not fun and takes longer than some would like. With the latest update, however, you will be able to move your files from one app to another with ease.
Hopefully, the update could be refined even more, which would allow you to simply drag and drop whatever you want to whichever app you want on your phone. I would really like to see such an implementation later down the road with Android 14 . Do you think this feature is something you will find useful? Let us know in the comments below.
