Latest OnePlus 12 Leak Sheds Light on Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and an Updated Camera System Coming to the Flagship

If all things go accordingly, we will be seeing the OnePlus 12 release at the end of this year. As the tradition has been going, the phone will first arrive in China, followed by a global release early in 2024, and today, we have a fresh leak talking about the specs of the upcoming smartphone, and honestly, they are what you would expect.
OnePlus 12 leaked specifications show us how the phone looks like just another device focusing on the number's game
Based on information received from reliable tipster Yogesh Brar, the OnePlus 12 is going to bring some obvious changes along with some changes that should have been there a long time ago, but hey, at least the company is finally adding updates that users would actually want.
Brar mentions that the OnePlus 12 is currently in its engineering state, and the phone sports some decent hardware, such as a 6.7-inch QHD OLED with 120Hz refresh rate, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, a 50-megapixel primary camera with a 50-megapixel ultrawide, and a massive 64-megapixel periscope camera. You are also getting a 5,000 mAh battery, along with 100W charging speed.

OnePlus 12 (Engineering config)
- 6.7" QHD OLED, 120Hz - Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 (SM8650) - 50MP + 50MP (UW) + 64MP (periscope) - 5,000mAh battery - 100W charging
Launch: December (China)

Brar has also mentioned that OnePlus 12 will launch in December, later this year. However, the first launch will be in China, and based on the history, the global launch will happen sometime in January 2024. Aside from the obvious choice to go with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, the biggest upgrade that the phone will receive is the periscope camera. Now, past, OnePlus devices have mediocre telephoto cameras, and perhaps having a periscope can finally fix the issues that people run into. The periscope camera was actually mentioned in recent rumor , so it is safe to say that this is one of those things that could end up showing on the phone.
Honestly, phones have become boring lately, and I am really hoping OnePlus 12 changes things up and brings something that is different and unique, at least in the Android market. Of course, next year, we will be seeing other great phones like the Galaxy S24 and the Pixel 9, perhaps. Here is hoping OnePlus manages to make an identity of itself because, hey, remember how Carl Pei talked about how OnePlus phones don't really have an identity because every new release looks drastically different than the last one?
