Mac Studio With Updated Apple Silicon Likely To Be A Part Of WWDC 2023 Announcements, According To Codename Findings

Apple could give preference to the Mac Studio this year, possibly choosing to delay its Mac Pro again instead of unveiling it at WWDC 2023. According to new findings, the company is said to be testing two new Macs ahead of the keynote, with its compact powerhouse said to be one of them being offered in either the M2 Max or M2 Ultra flavors.
Apple is said to be testing a new Mac Studio codenamed J475, first iteration featured a similar model number
Some valuable information was shared by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman. On Twitter, he states that the codename for the current-generation Mac Studio is J375 and an unnamed Mac with the designation J475 is reportedly being tested. Looking at how similar these two model numbers are, we would immediately guess that it is the Mac Studio successor, which will offer customers new M2 Max and M2 Ultra options, replacing the M1 Max and M1 Ultra variants.
The M2 Max was already announced alongside the M2 Pro this year, so all that remains is the M2 Ultra launch, which we believe will happen with the updated Mac Studio. With each release of a new Apple Silicon, we have seen small increments in the number of CPU and GPU cores, so there should be some differences between the M1 Ultra and M2 Ultra.

Can confirm Apple is nearing the introduction of a new Mac codenamed J475. What’s the codename of the current Mac Studio? J375. https://t.co/X4f2n2Mtni

In terms of a design change, we are not expecting anything to differ from the upcoming Mac Studio. In fact, Apple could re-use the same chassis as the one present in the current version while offering new chipset options. Looking at the updated MacBook Pro models, which feature the M2 Pro and M2 Max with no chassis difference, Apple could adopt a similar approach to its upcoming hardware. It is possible that when the M3 gets announced, we may see major aesthetic changes in tow, but for now, we will take what the company is offering.
Aside from the Mac Studio, a 15-inch version of the M2 MacBook Air may also be announced in a new few days. To make the launch more enticing for existing Mac owners, Apple is rumored to start trade-ins of its first-generation Mac Studio, M2 MacBook Air, and M2 MacBook Pro on June 5, which is the same date as WWDC 2023. With so many revelations arriving before the event, we will keep our eyes peeled for any and all updates to relay to our audience, so stay tuned.
