Android 14 Beta 3: List of Everything That Google Has Added to the Latest Beta

Earlier today, Google started rolling out the Android 14 Beta 3 for Pixel. This one is a big deal because the update has finally achieved platform stability, meaning that we are heading in the right direction. As with all the updates, Google has added a number of changes, small and big to the update, and we have all of them for you in this article.
Sadly, I do not own a Pixel device, so I could not test the beta update myself. But our friends over at 9to5Google managed to test the update, and we have a list of changes that are found in the latest Android 14 Beta 3. If you want to download the update, you can do so from here and then follow our guide to update. Again, this is perhaps the most stable beta update that you can try out.
The new Android 14 Beta 3 adds new visual and customization updates
So, what's new in Android 14 Beta 3? Google has added a number of new additions, so you can have a look at them below. However, it is worth noting that these new additions and all the prior additions only apply to the stock Android and 3rd party skins like One UI 6.0 will have different additions or none at all.
1. Android 14 Beta 3 Brings a New Charging Indicator
Android 14 Beta 3 brings a new pill-shaped charging indicator for Pixel phones. The indicator pops up every time you plug in your charger, shows your current battery percentage, and goes back to normal. The source has mentioned that you will actually see the percentage even if you have it disabled in the status bar. However, this could change in the final version. Here is how it looks.

2. Themed icons have more colors in them
Themes have become a major part of Android since Material You came out and well, with Android 14 Beta 3, Google has added even more colors to the themed icons. Taking theming to the next level. Honestly, I love that One UI lets me use custom icons because, for some reason, this coloring is not sitting well with me.

3. Screenshot Preview Buttons are More Rounded Now
Another small change found in the Android 14 Beta 3 is that the screenshot share and edit buttons are slightly rounded now. You can call it a rounded square. Not sure if it is going to make a big deal for many people because, honestly, I wouldn't have even noticed.

4. UpsideDownCake has been renamed to Android 14
We all know Google loves desserts. After all, naming every version of its flagship OS after a dessert is a very obvious thing, no? However, for some time, the company has started using these dessert names as codenames that can be found in the code of the OS and not something that you get to see on the front end. Android 14 Beta 3 gets rid of UpsideDownCake and is now simply known as Android 14.

5. Android 14 makes gesture navigation easy
Gesture navigation has been a part of Android for some time. While some people are using it already, a lot of people have difficulties figuring them out. Thankfully, Google has added a simple gesture navigation tutorial that can help you with it. You can still go ahead and use the old 3-button navigation mode, but if you want something different. the option is there.

6. Other miscellaneous changes
Google has also made a number of other miscellaneous changes to Android 14 Beta 3. For instance, the toggle for 'Touch sounds' is now called 'Tap & click sounds. YOu also get to see more Material You themed toggles and lock screen clocks and shortcuts, and customizations are even more granular now, allowing you better control over how these things are handled.
Going forward, you can expect more changes from Google being made to Android 14. Considering how we have received the platform stability, we might not be seeing major changes but it is evident that Google has started focusing on refining the visual experience even further than before. We will keep you posted if we run into some more changes. Until then, stay tuned!
