Apple Vision Pro Has Impressed Analysts, Saying That The Company Is ‘Playing Chess While Others Play Checkers’

Without even officially launching in the market, the Apple Vision Pro has put an everlasting impression on the masses, including Wedbush analysts, who raised their Apple target price by $15 shortly after the announcement of the AR headset.
Analysts believe that the Apple Vision Pro is part of a bigger strategy to create an entirely new ecosystem for users
In a summary spotted by AppleInsider, the note to investors stated that while the AR headset took center stage at WWDC 2023, the Wedbush analysts believe that there is a deeper plan that involves creating a new App Store around this product and that ‘Apple playing chess while others play checkers.’ The result will be a multitude of apps that cater to several hundreds of thousands of users.
“We continue to strongly believe this is the first step in a broader strategy for Apple to build out a generative AI driven app ecosystem for its golden customer base that will have thousands of use cases across fitness, health, sports/movies via Apple and partner (e.g. Disney) content, and a myriad [sic] of other areas just starting to take shape with developers.”
However, even if the Apple Vision Pro has placed a perpetual positive impression on first-time users, it is not reported to be a ‘home run’ product, especially when Apple is only estimated to ship 150,000 units  after it officially arrives next year. Another reason for raising the target price is the strong demand for the iPhone 15 series launch later this year.
Wedbush analysts believe that roughly 250 million iPhones have not been upgraded in over four years, bringing Apple tons of opportunity to dominate the smartphone market for another year. That is not to discredit the capabilities of the Apple Vision Pro because another analyst Gene Muster predicted that the AR headset business will contribute to 10 percent  of Apple’s revenue by 2030.
Of course, it goes without saying that unless Apple brings down that mammoth $3,499 price of the Apple Vision Pro, the technology giant will not see any traction with future iterations, which is why a more affordable successor is being planned for 2025 . The Wedbush analysts also reportedly stated that Apple’s AR headset prices will start to come down two years from now, which will be necessary if the company wants the device to become a prominent member of its ecosystem. Though an exact figure was not mentioned, a $1,000 target should be the firm’s next goal.
