macOS Can Remove The Background From An Image Natively, Here’s How

Here’s how you can use the latest version of macOS to remove the background from an image without requiring extra software.
macOS Ventura lets you natively remove background from images on your Mac - no third-party software required at all
Photoshop users have been removing backgrounds from images for a long time now. But, thanks to the power of machine learning, it has become super easy to remove the background from an image and retain the subject as long as you have the app for it on your platform - no special skills are required either.
If you’re using macOS, then you will be surprised to learn that it can actually remove the background from an image natively . You don’t need any third-party software for it. It all happens using the power of machine learning and Apple’s macOS operating system.
The way it works is actually quite easy as well. And it is something that has been around for a while, just waiting to be discovered. Let me enlighten you so you can overuse this to oblivion.
Tutorial
Step 1. Find an image whose background you want to remove. For this tutorial, I'm going to use an image of a cat, obviously. If this image exists in your iCloud Photo Library inside the Photos app, make sure you drag it to your desktop or documents folder first, otherwise it won't work.
Step 2. Right-click on the image and go to Quick Actions.
Step 3. Click on Remove Background.
Step 4. macOS will analyze the image and create a PNG file with the background removed. This means you can copy and paste the subject like a sticker and use it somewhere else, or you can use your editing skills to add something else in place of the background you removed.
While the feature does get the job done, it can be a hit or miss in some situations, especially when there's something in the image with a lot of fine hair or fine details. But, for a lot of people, the final image is going to be perfect, and it really shouldn't bother you unless you like to scrutinize every single pixel there is on display.
This feature has been around for a while now, and we're certain it will help you get extremely creative in a lot of ways. No need to download special software just for something you need to do once in a while - Apple has your back!
