Apple Has Stopped Signing iOS 16.4.1 – Here’s Why it is Bad News For Some Users After iOS 16.5 Update

Apple released its latest iOS 16.5 update recently with a boatload of new additions. Today, the company has stopped signing iOS 16.4.1 which means you can no longer downgrade from the latest iOS 16.5 update. Apple usually stops signing its older software updates a week or two after the new version is released, potentially due to keeping users from downgrading to the previous version. As mentioned earlier, users would prefer to stick to the latest build as it brings new features and bug fixes for a stable user experience. With the release of iOS 16.5, Apple brought a bug that disallowed users to use the Lightning to USB 3 camera adapter the way it should be used. Some users have reported that the latest update broke the functionality due to which they can not use the dongle for charging while the accessory is connected to the iPhone. Since Apple has stopped signing iOS 16.4.1, you now do not have the option to downgrade from iOS 16.5.
