The iPhone 14 Pro Max Was the Most Popular Flagship in Q1 2023, with the Galaxy S23 Ultra Being the Most Popular Android Phone

It is safe to say that the smartphone industry is not doing so well at the moment. Sales have dropped across all companies and ecosystems, and many people are simply not buying smartphones in the first place. However, the higher-end smartphone segment seems to be thriving because people, or tech enthusiasts, to be specific, are still buying phones, but only the ones that cost $500 and above. If you have not guessed it, the iPhone 14 Pro Max is on the top.
Despite the smartphone industry still struggling, Apple and Samsung are thriving thanks to their higher-end smartphones
Based on information received from Canalys , the high-end smartphone market has seen a small 4.7% growth compared to last year, and to show us the phones that made the top 15, the firm has even shared a list of the 15 most popular phones based on sell-in.
As expected, the iPhone managed to take the top spots. The iPhone 14 Pro Max was in the first spot, with iPhone 14 Pro, iPhone 14, and iPhone 13 being in the second, third, and fourth spots, respectively. However, iPhone 14 Plus and iPhone 12 were also on the list as they managed to take the sixth and eighth spots, respectively, with the iPhone SE 3rd gen taking the 11th spot.

On the other side of things, Samsung managed to take six spots on the list. The Galaxy S23 Ultra took the fifth spot, becoming the most popular Android smartphone of the Q1 2023, with the Galaxy S23 in the seventh spot, Galaxy S23 Plus in the ninth spot, the Galaxy Z Flip 4 in the tenth spot, Galaxy S22 on the twelfth spot, and the Galaxy S21 FE on the fifteenth spot.
With the stats away, none of this comes as a surprise because we know that Samsung has been struggling for some time now, and aside from the South Korean firm, Apple is the only company making phones that are worthy of consideration. I am not saying that the rest of the companies are not releasing good products. I am only saying that Apple has been ahead for some time and for all the right reasons.
Hopefully, Samsung will be able to bounce back, considering how the new generation of foldable phones and tablets could be coming out in July, along with the Galaxy S23 FE , also rumored to release sometime later this year. On the other hand, Apple will release the new iPhone 15 series later this year, as well. There are a lot of exciting smartphones coming out, and we will be sure to keep you posted.
