Apple to Unveil AR Headset on Monday But Launch Could Take Months as Device Will Enter Mass Production in October

Apple is expected to launch its highly anticipated AR Headset at its WWDC event on Monday. The device has rested in the rumor mill for a while now and after several delays, the headset will finally be making its way out. However, it might be too early for the AR Headset to hit the shelves since the company requires developers to standardize it with applications. According to the latest, Apple's AR Headset will enter mass production later this year while the launch will take place in December. Apple to begin mass production of its AR Headset in October with launch slated for December
While Apple will potentially announce the device at its WWDC event, it would have to work with developers to make applications and devise its usage. Would the AR Headset be used as an accessory to the iPhone or would it offer utilities as a standalone device like a Mac? While all of these questions would be answered at Apple's keynote, developers would have to put their game face on to develop apps for the AR Headset before it reaches the end user. According to Morgan Stanley, Apple's AR Headset will enter mass production in October and launch in December.
To be precise, an Apple analyst at Morgan Stanley suggests that according to their supply chain sources, the availability of the headset will begin ahead of the December holidays (via MacRumors ). It is worth noting that Apple's AR Headset will be oriented toward developers, content creators, and professionals. Henceforth, the company is looking to sell half a million units in its first year of availability.



According to reports, Apple's AR Headset will be priced at $3,000 which is far above what consumers are willing to pay for an AR device. Yesterday, Meta launched its Quest 3 headset early which features a $499 price tag. Henceforth, Apple would have to come up with a solution to keep the price at bay. It was also previously rumored that the company is working on budget variants of the AR Headset alongside a high-end option.
